Jay Seals and the Chase Bio
(May 2026)

After thirty years of chasing songs throughout the United States—Jay Seals has re-emerged under a new banner: Jay Seals and the Chase. The name marks both a rebrand and a return — to the ensemble energy, stacked harmonies, and communal feel that first powered his breakout work with Blue Turtle Seduction. Where his early 2020s project Homespun Seals explored intimate, self-recorded textures and bedroom-folk introspection, Jay Seals and the Chase opens the windows wide again, letting multiple voices, live instruments, and shared momentum drive the sound.

Following Continental Shelves (May 2025), Seals’ second release of the 2025, Hydrodynamics (December 2025), revives a set of songs recorded back in 2010 — a vibrant collection of live-band performances featuring Shara Seals, Cassandra Osborne, and longtime collaborator Andrew Harris (of Super Greens & Dad’s LPs). Unearthed and refurbished for 2025, the album bridges past and present in a blend of legacy and progression.

Following Hydrodynamics, the forthcoming 2026 album The Sketchbook Travelogue will expand the ensemble vision even further — pairing Seals’ reflective songwriting with a cast of players and former bandmates, each contributing their own distinctive skill set. Together, they navigate mood, melody, and motion with the ease of old friends who still love the open road.

Across more than 1,300 shows and ten albums and EPs — performed under names like Jay Seals and the Chase, Homespun Seals, Blue Turtle Seduction, Dad’s LPs, and High Tide — Seals’ compass has stayed fixed on one thing: the freedom to keep creating.
